Portland Open Studios at Museum of Contemporary Craft |
Ninteen Portland Open Studios artists will fill the Community Showcase at the Museum of Contemporary Craft September and October. Many artists will be doing demonstrations during this time.
Tour Guides are available at the Museum's Gallery store.

Museum hours and admission
Demo Schedule Saturday, September 18 Fiber and Clay will be in the spot light this week with the added emphasis on mixing media. Amy Maul,
Carolyn Hazel Drake and Bonnie Meltzer. Drake sews clay components together. Meltzer crochets wire and combines it with other objects.
Saturday, September 23 Artist couples will demonstrate this day. Marcy Stone and Geg Hanson work on individual pieces but also work on joint beaded and glass
bead projects. Gwen Jones and Ken Forcier make stenciled canvas rugs together.
Saturday, October 23 Glass will be highlighted. The demos will focus on glass prep and finishing rather than the activities that need fire. Carli Schultz Kruse
and Hargis will demo.
Portland Open Studios is a member of the Guild Council of the Museum of Contemporary Craft which fosters communication among the craft guilds. Many Portland Open Studios artists also participate in
one of the other guilds. Exhibiting at the museum gives us a chance to highlight the artists who use craft media and techniques in both traditional and experimental ways. |
Portland Open Studios Honored at City Hall 2010 |
The City of Portland honored Portland Open Studios with a Proclamation and unveiled the organization’s 10th Anniversary Purchase Prize gift to the City of Portland.
The 10 x 10 Show (all art 10 inches or less, in all media) featured artworks by over 80 artists in the 2009 Portland Open Studios tour.
