I've been working in clay for 20 years. The objects that I make now are post-industrial artifacts from the future.…clumsy arthritic parts of machines that have not been invented yet. They allude to esoteric machines with specific functions and yet these parts are rendered obsolete through time and displacement. Their incomplete forms tell us a story of abortion being unfinished…as if a sudden shut-down of their manufacturing took place. Arcane technologies fascinate me. This is also the way of wood firing which these objects have witnessed.
