Bridget Benton earned a Bachelor's Degree in visual art from the Colorado College and a Master's Degree in Creativity and Change Leadership from the State University of New York. Her passion is rekindling creativity in others - whether it's through her own process-oriented mixed media art or her work as a teacher and lecturer. As an artist she has worked in a variety of media including batik jewelry collage assemblage acrylic and encaustic always with a strong use of personal symbols that encourage the viewer to develop their own narrative. Since 1992 Bridget has shown her work at festivals and galleries across the U.S. and Canada including Guardino Gallery in Portland. As a teacher Bridget has been honored to teach art workshops and lecture on creativity at Portland Community College the Art Unraveled Mixed Media Art Retreat in Arizona HelloCraft's Summit of Awesome the BizArt Conference in Washington and the Annual North American Conference of the International Association of Facilitators among others. Bridget has appeared as a guest art/craft expert on local TV show AM Northwest and her art projects have been featured in the national magazine Green Craft. Bridget is also the author of the book "The Creative Conversation: Artmaking as Playful Prayer."
