Wheelchair-Accessible Studios
Natalie Ball, a 2008 scholarship recipient, painting at her wheelchair-accessible studio | The artists
below indicated that they had wheelchair-accessible studios according to the guidelines listed below. However, we strongly suggest that you call the
artists you want to visit to confirm that their studios meet your specific needs. Phone numbers are in the Tour Guide. Guidelines:
- No curbs, no stairs (not even 1), no door thresholds more than 1.5" off the ground.
- Good street parking and sidewalks for obvious access to the studio space.
- Mostly level paths that are minimum 30" wide.
- Working space size of a single car garage is about the minimum, as long as it's open.
- Other spaces that are filled must have clear aisles with a minimum 30" width.
